Lure of sail draws ever more visitors

It’s the feeling of sailing – the sound of the creaking timbers and the billowing sails – that is attracting tourists from around the world to a traditional wooden boat tour on the Huon River.

Yukon, a small but beautifully restored vessel, built in Denmark in 1930 and found at the bottom of a Danish harbour by its present owners, is a familiar sight on the river where it flows past the maritime village of Franklin.
